Founder & Visionary Leader
Ln. Dr. V. Michael, the founder of St. Michael College of Engineering and Technology, was a visionary educationalist with an unwavering commitment to providing quality technical education accessible to students from all walks of life.
Driven by a deep belief that education is the most powerful tool for transformation, he established SMCET in 1998 with the vision to create an institution that would nurture not only technical excellence but also moral character and social responsibility.
His tireless dedication to the field of education and his community has left an indelible legacy. Under his guidance, SMCET grew from a nascent institution to a well-recognized center of engineering education affiliated with Anna University and approved by AICTE.
The motto he chose for the institution — "Acquire, Assimilate and Adhibit" — continues to guide every student and faculty member, reflecting his philosophy that knowledge must not only be gained but also internalized and applied for the greater good.
